PBIS Students Support The Community Through The Global Eye Outreach Programme
PBIS is proud of our Year 10 students who recently participated in the Global Eye Health Outreach programme! Their dedication to using their language skills to support healthcare professionals and patients is truly inspiring.
Global Eye Health Outreach provided free cataract screenings and surgeries from the Singapore National Health Center for communities in Lao PDR. Our students were vital as translators, supporting medical professionals and patients at the National Ophthalmology Center.
Through this programme, our students had a unique opportunity to develop their language skills by actively using and refining their translation abilities in a real-world setting. Additionally, they made a meaningful contribution, as their support directly assisted medical professionals and positively impacted patients' lives. Moreover, students gained valuable hands-on experiences, gaining insights into healthcare access and exchanging opportunities with medical professionals.
Thank you to everyone involved in giving our Year 10 students and student council an opportunity to show their dedication and commitment to this impactful programme!
